SQA Exam Results

Congratulations to all our young people for their achievements in this year’s exams.  While there always a few disappointments as well as delight, I am very pleased with S4 performance overall with  the significant majority of results meeting or exceeding target grades .

The following pupils all achieved 8 awards at National 5; Emma Cameron, Caleb Lock, Matthew Bradley, and special mention to Sara MacKinnon who achieved 7As and a B.

S5 performance was strong and again, the majority of grades met or exceeded targets . Of particular note, is Jamie Begg with 5 As, 2 of which were at band 1

S6 attainment was very strong and of particular note is  Isabelle Tilling who achieved a Band 1 in Higher Art in 2013 and followed this up with a Band 1 at AH this session.  Her work is of such quality that it has been deemed ‘Outstanding’ by the SQA and will feature in the forthcoming event to showcase outstanding AH folios at the Tramway   Visual Arts studio, Glasgow in November.

For wider Achievement,  Shanine Gallagher, who achieved 4 Highers in her S6, has gone on to excel in her own Music and performing, and was chosen to open the main stage at this year’s Tiree festival and also performed on STV Glasgow in  August.

Out of our highest achievers this year, the Lochaber Housing Association Award for Academic Achievement goes jointly to Jamie Begg and Isabelle Tilling. Congratulations to both
