DYW are organising an NHS event on the 25th November (1-2pm). This will broadcast via Zoom and will focus on current jobs within NHS Highland in the Administration, Personal and Social Care and Support Service areas.

Blythswood Collection

Thanks to all in the Community who donated Blythswood boxes for the Christmas Appeal. Thanks to Ardnamurchan High, Strontian Primary schools and community we have assembled a nice pile of boxes towards the collection.

Congratulations to all our young engineers who took part in the Scottish Engineering Leaders Award competition this year!

Most successful were

Sally Patterson who was selected as a winner in her category for the Scotland region and will receive prizes including a pair of Virtual reality Goggles she can use to view the Virtual Gallery

and

Mya Carmichael whose entry was graded Distinction and whose entry will appear in the Virtual Gallery https:/leadersaward.com/2020-online-galleries/

Other Distinctions awarded were for:

Brothers in Arms Fundraising Day

Thanks to the Pupil Council for organising this day.

The total sum raised was £300 which is a record for recent years.

The Pupil Council led by the S6 captains, have decided to make Friday 9th October a Dress Down Day in aid of the Mental Health Charity ‘Brothers in Arms’ .  The focus will be dress up in yellow.  Usual donations apply:

 

£2.00 donation for ‘Dressing down’ in normal clothes

£1.00 donation for ‘Dressing up’ in yellow to support the charity

No charge for Dress Code

We are offering our single day Adventure Days at Loch Eil for October break – these were very successful at Ullswater throughout August.

Katie Cameron has been asked to write an article for British carriage driving young drivers. We are all very proud of her. She has been put forward for the team to travel to France next year to represent team GB in the young FEI young driver championship very exciting times!

During lockdown, working in partnership with SCHOLAR and SCILT, e-Sgoil delivered a programme of live

interactive lessons to in-home learners using video conferencing technology.

 

e-Sgoil are now offering live webinar sessions that complement SCHOLAR’s e-learning resources for over a dozen

National 5 and Higher courses.

 

These webinars give learners the opportunity to:

 

  • participate in an extensive series of live early-evening study support webinar lessons from their own homes.
  • benefit from specialist teacher input during the live, real-time webinar lessons.
  • access subject specific resources in advance of the webinar lessons.

 

The current live webinar lessons for part of an initial block of eight sessions.
